Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A comeback the Russian player secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a torrid year, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden championship since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.

Victory also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.

His defensive strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.

Moutet rescued four initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, he earned the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
